Park City Mountain and Canyons are connected, creating the largest ski resort in the United States. Canyons’ staggering 4,000 acres has been joined to Park City Mountain Resort via the new Quicksilver Gondola, and together the two areas offer 7,300 acres of world-class terrain.
This is great news for skiers looking for a wider variety of lodging and terrain options on a Park City ski vacation. Now skiers and snowboarders can choose between staying in the buzzing, historic downtown Park City or the quieter, slopeside accommodations at Canyons Village with easier access to whichever type of terrain their heart desires.
Canyons Village and Park City Mountain’s close locale accommodate everyone’s off-mountain interests, from world-class dining, ample shopping, several live music and performing arts venues to the annual Sundance Film Festival and a vibrant bar and nightclub scene. Park City is renowned for its nightlife, but the après-ski scene in Canyons’ base village is not to be missed either. Renovations have transformed the base area, specifically the Ski Beach area, into a popular après-ski hang out—especially on sunny afternoons.
SKI PARK CITY MOUNTAIN RESORT
Located in the heart of Park City, Utah, only a 35-minute drive from Salt Lake City International Airport, Park City is home to over 7,300 skiable acres with a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain. During Summer 2015, the Resort undertook the largest resort improvement project in the history of American skiing, one that linked it with neighbor Canyons Resort to create the United States’ largest ski area. Park City bustles with activities year-round with three distinct base areas, nine hotels, thrilling family adventures, and more than two dozen restaurants.
Park City is the largest ski area in the United States. With over 7,300 acres, 300+ trails, 38 lifts, seven terrain parks, 14 bowls, six natural half pipes, one super pipe and one mini pipe, plus many diverse ski-in/ski-out and village adjacent lodging properties, Park City is an easily accessible, world-class mountain destination located in an authentic & historic western town.
DOWNTOWN PARK CITY
One of the things that downtown Park City is known for is hosting the annual film fete, Sundance. The world-famous film festival has planted its roots in Park City because of the fun, rustic atmosphere, delicious restaurants, and lavish hotels and condos that are scattered throughout downtown.
Even when Hollywood’s stars aren’t vacationing in Park City, the downtown scene is lively. Downtown Park City is a blend of contemporary and historic. There’s a ski bridge and Town Lift that joins the rustic town with the modern ski resort, illustrating how inter-connected the mountain and town truly are.
