The Patagonia Ski Experience – Argentina Spirit

Stay in Llao Llao Hotel Resort, ski Bariloche and continue your trip to Alvear Palace in Buenos Aires!

Ever since the 1940s, when people began skiing on Cerro Catedral, Bariloche has been the ideal destination for snow lovers. Today, Catedral is the largest ski area and most modern winter sport center in South America. Located in Patagonia, surrounded by the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Catedral is the gateway to some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
Beside unique skiing experience, we won’t leave Argentina without visiting Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires summarizes the true Argentina essence. It is a patchwork of distinct, fascinating communities, from the frenetic downtown and working-class tanguero neighborhoods such as La Boca and San Telmo, to wealthy districts such as Recoleta and trendy Palermo.

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, and his family visited the Llao Llao Hotel.

President Obama showed his appreciation for his stay in Patagonia in the social networks after his departure, and shared a photo of the landscape from Bariloche with the following message:

Michelle, the girls, and I took a detour in Argentina to hike through Patagonia—and I wanted to share this photo I took. We walked paths along glacial lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It was beautiful—exactly the kind of place we need to protect for our kids, and for their kids. I’m grateful my daughters got to see it. And if we want each new generation to see it as they did, we have to keep doing everything in our power to combat climate change. It’s the only planet we’ve got, and it’s spectacular. So let’s take good care of it.

President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Mrs. Juliana Awada came by to our Hotel to say goodbye to the Obama family at the end of their visit to Argentina. In these photos the two couples meet at the Moreno Lake Lounge and deck.
The Obama family was so delighted with Bariloche that they promised to come back next year.
