What is a Rodel?
A rodel is a traditional alpine sled, designed specifically for carving down snowy mountain trails with control and style. Unlike the simple plastic sleds you might find elsewhere, a rodel is made of sturdy wood with metal runners and a curved shape that allows for smoother steering, faster descents, and better grip on groomed sledding tracks.
Used widely throughout Switzerland, rodeling is a popular winter pastime for locals and visitors alike. Discover the Untouched Beauty of
La Rosière at Club Med
Enjoy breakfast each morning and then walk out the door to meet your instructor/guide and group. Monday-Friday you will be put into small same-level groups with an instructor/guide for a weeks’ worth of instruction or to show you the secret powder stashes and off-piste descents. You don’t need your passport, but cross the border on skis into Italy and enjoy the ski resort of La Thuile!!!! Your instructor/guide will show you the way, and back. Return to Club Med for lunch or maybe try a mountain lunch in Italy. Either way, relax and enjoy lunch only as it is done in Europe, a true experience.
Other on-mountain options include the X-Treme Luge, a rollercoaster-like thrill ride; Snakegliss, a chain of sleds; snowkiting; or paragliding. Heli-skiing is even an option in Italy.
After skiing, take a short 15-minute walk down to a wonderful French village for après ski, shopping, and of course all the great amenities at our Club Med, such as indoor pool, Yoga classes, spa and outdoor hot tub, and open bar!
