Val Gardena

Ortisei, together with S. Cristina and Selva Gardena, is one of the three municipalities of Val Gardena, considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Tyrol because of its uniquely beautiful location and the hospitality of its inhabitants. As the main village of Val Gardena, Ortisei has a wonderful pedestrian zone with shops, cafés and restaurants.
Rasciesa and Seceda can be reached directly from the village by cable cars and are a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. From Ortisei, you can also reach the Alpe di Siusi, a unique skiing area and the largest high-alpine meadow in Europe, using a modern lift. In addition to German and Italian, Ladin is spoken in Ortisei.
The Dolomites Val Gardena / Alpe di Siusi ski area is part of the Dolomiti Superski*, a world-famous network of 12 ski areas in the Dolomites which you can access using just one ski pass. The Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites Val Gardena skiing area is a beloved starting point for the Sella Ronda skiing carousel which will provide you with an unforgettable skiing circuit on skis on the Sella massif. In Val Gardena you can also experience the longest ski slope in South Tyrol, the “La Longia”, which is more than 10 km long, features 1,273 m of elevation gain and stretches from mount Seceda to Ortisei.
Ortisei is linked to 200 kilometers (125 miles) of ski terrain and seven villages as well as the 500 kilometers (310 miles) of the Dolomiti Superski. The unique Dolomites sceneries together with the variety of its ski slopes and a carousel of fast, modern ski-lifts. Val Gardena is a perfect location to access this vast skiing environment. Don’t forget to schedule an entire day to do the Sella Ronda – the iconic panorama ski tour of the region!
*The Dolomiti Superski is a ski area in Italy. Created in 1974, it is spread over an area of about 3,000 km² in the Triveneto region of Italy, and includes most of the winter ski slopes of the Dolomites. Comprising 12 ski resorts and is the largest ski area in the world.
