Grindelwald and Méribel
TRAVEL DATES: Saturday February 25 – Saturday March 11, 2023
Grindelwald, Switzerland
Abutting the famously rugged Eiger, Jungfrau and Monch peaks, a Grindelwald ski vacation is sure to please anyone in search of a good view. Grindelwald is the largest of the Interlaken-based resorts, known as Jungfrau Top Ski area, in the Bernese Oberland Mountains of Switzerland. Grindelwald is directly linked to Wengen ski area, and the Top Ski lift ticket provides access to the resort’s combined 132 miles of ski terrain over 50 pistes. The Jungfrau Top Ski resort accesses pistes above 7,500 feet, ensuring that skiers and boarders experience exceptional snow coverage. And despite being one of Europe’s favorite ski destinations, the Jungfrau region rarely experiences crowds, thanks to its three sprawling base areas, and centrally located Interlaken. Plus, the resort’s 20 chairlifts transport 42,000 passengers uphill in an hour.
Non-skiers and those looking for a variety of activities and experiences, will be incredibly pleased, thanks to the world-famous cogwheel train, which shuttles skiers and sightseers alike to the “Top of Europe,” the saddle between Jungfrau and Monch peak. Those looking to participate in winter activities will be pleased to learn that Grindelwald is home to the longest toboggan run in the Alps, and the Grindelwald Valley features 12 miles of world-class cross-country skiing trails.
Spend a day in the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the center of the Bernese Alps. Take a spectacular roundtrip by train, cable car, and railway to the areas of Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, and Schilthorn, to the places where the 1969 James Bond movie was filmed.
With so much terrain to explore, a lively and storied base village in Interlaken, and spectacular Alpine peaks, you might as well start planning your Grindelwald ski vacation today.
Méribel, France
Located in an idyllic natural setting, Méribel embodies the charm of a mountain village, with its traditional chalets of wood and stones. Originally designed by ski lovers, its architects and its inhabitants have created an exceptional resort with slopeside accommodation. Méribel benefits from its privileged location, in the heart of the largest ski area in the world – the 3 Valleys, providing access to all types of winter sports over its 373 miles of slopes that are served by more than 100 ski lifts. Known for its variety of slopes, the resort allows skiers of all levels to enjoy exceptional skiing through the pine forests on freshly groomed slopes, with snow guaranteed throughout the winter season.
Discover cross-country skiing on Méribel’s two exceptional areas which offer you a wide variety of free trails. You can set out for skating or classic skiing (or even biathlon) on cross-country trails which are suitable for beginners as well as experts. Méribel and Courchevel share a total of more than 56 miles of cross-country trails, including one which links the two resorts around the flank of the mountain (5 miles one way).
Thanks to its discreet luxury and its emphasis on serenity and comfort, Méribel is known as the resort where one can relax in one of our many prestigious establishments, each bestowed with cozy spas carrying the best high range products. Thanks to its many top level restaurants, Méribel offers an exceptional gourmet experience, with French gastronomic meals or traditional local food.
Serre Chevalier France
TRAVEL DATES: March 3 – 15, 2023
Serre Chevalier
Serre Chevalier is an attractive resort, with narrow cobbled streets and pretty shops lining the village’s main road. Most of the accommodation consists of small chalets, family-run B&Bs, or self-catered. Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon, is a destination like no other: the only example in France of a ski resort backing onto a town of more than 10,000 inhabitants, offering an exceptional variety of activities associated with a unique heritage, spectacular and preserved landscapes, in a privileged climate.
The main town of Briançon is at the lower end of the valley at 1200 meters altitude increasing to 1350 meters altitude where its old walled town called Cité Vauban sits majestically surrounded by smaller forts of distinction. Briançon stands out for its picturesque town and its fortifications, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but it also stands out for the fact that almost unique in Europe, this town of art and history is also a ski resort. Travel north from Briançon and you come to the villages of Saint Chaffrey-Chantemerle (1350 meters), Villeneuve La Salle (1400 meters), and Le Monêtier les Bains (1500 meters) the alpine spa village with its fabulous thermal spa. The Serre Chevalier resort is located right in the middle of magnificent nature in the “Les Ecrins” National Park with the 4102 m high “Dôme des Ecrins” and wonderful centuries-old larch and pine trees. Whether you searching for a high alpine skiing experience with a view of the glacier or cool cross-country skiing through the larch forests – both are on offer. Plenty of variety is offered with mogul slopes and wide runs, the “Altitude” Snowpark is spread over 3 hectares with a length of 700 m divided into 3 difficulty levels ranging from beginner to expert as well as a boarder and skicross course with steep curves. The needs of families are also catered to on the marked slopes.
Snow cover is exceptionally good which is down to the resort’s north-facing position. Slopes are colder for longer and they tend to hold onto more snow. The majority of the skiing is on the top half of the mountain and the trees protect the lower slopes. Snow-making machines protect the base of the valley pistes and the grooming is consistently well done. The valley grows quiet in May and November each year when many local shop and restaurant owners take a break and head south or spend time with family. Briançon however remains alive and attracts visitors all year round thanks to its historic routes (medieval fortresses surround the town) and its central location where you can choose to take any of the five different valleys including the Guisane (mentioned above), Durance (direction south) and the Clarée towards Italy.
Tignes and Paris
TRAVEL DATES: March 4 – 13, 2023
Tignes (French pronunciation: [tiɲ]) is a commune in the Tarentaise Valley, in the Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France, known for the highest skiable area in Europe[2] and the longest ski season in Europe[3]. It is located in the Savoie region with good transport links in and out of Lyon, Geneva, and Chambery.
It is best known as a snow-sure ski resort. Together with neighboring Val d’Isère, it forms the “Espace Killy” ski area. The proximity of the two resorts offers one of the most seamless links between ski areas in Europe, in effect creating a single skiable area of over 300 km piste. Whilst not the largest ski area in the Alps, the level of integration between the two resorts has the effect of making it feel as one, often described as feeling like one of the largest single ski areas as a result.
Tignes was the freestyle skiing venue for the 1992 Winter Olympics, co-host city for the 1992 Winter Paralympics, and host of the Winter X Games. This, coupled with the year-round skiing, season length, and a large number of ski parks/slalom runs has supplanted Tignes as the go-to training ground for snow sport athletes[4].
The terrain of the valley lends itself to more challenging skiing, with advanced skiers often opting for the resort as their preferred ski area. The town has however strived to improve its appeal to beginner and intermediate skiers with the introduction of easier runs lower down in the valley towards Tignes- Les-Brévières and upgrading/installing new chairlifts with smaller elevation gains.
Whistler Canada
TRAVEL DATES: March 31 – April 7 , 2023
Snow-capped peaks and powdered steeps; sparkling lakes and gushing waterfalls; challenging hiking trails and inviting restaurants – Whistler’s offerings suit every season. However, its most popular attraction remains Whistler Blackcomb, and why wouldn’t it? The massive resort spans more than 8,100 acres of land, sees nearly 40 feet of snowfall annually, and boasts some of the most active après-ski spots in North America. The entire town, which sits about 75 miles north of Vancouver, embodies the ski-chic atmosphere, hosting dozens of ski and snowboard competitions
and festivals annually. Whistler continues to buzz through the warmer months when more outdoor enthusiasts come out to play. Visitors can try bobsledding or hiking and biking up the mountains. And those who come to town looking for photo-ops will find plenty. The Coast Mountains offer a picture-perfect setting: You’ll find the best views on a ride on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, which spans Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
While Whistler is an ideal vacation spot for the active types, more mellow travelers will enjoy the area’s museums and art galleries which are filled with informative exhibits. Plus, the town boasts family-friendly activities and attractions like ice skating, summer concerts, and the Whistler Sliding Centre, along with plenty of shopping options and a deluge of dining venues. With pristine ski spots and plenty of outdoor pursuits, you’ll see why so many just want to grab their gear and get to Whistler.
Best Months to Visit
The best times to visit Whistler are from June through August and between December and March. The mountains see peak skiing conditions from December to February, and March brings warmer temperatures but still offers quality snow. In June and July, Blackcomb Mountain reopens for glacier skiing while the rest of Whistler acts as a home base for camping and exploring the great outdoors. Meanwhile, September, October, and November are prime times for leaf peeping. April and May bring moderate temperatures, making these months ideal for outdoorsy activities like hiking and biking.
Yogi is not your friend!
Whistler’s wilderness is home to many black and grizzly bears. Keep your distance and do not feed them.
Drive slow for snow!
Whistler receives feet of snow each year. If you’re driving in the winter, slow down and make sure to rent or come with a reliable SUV.

Bend and Mount Bachelor
TRAVEL DATES: February 15 – 19, 2023
Here, amazement is something you fall into, and it’s waiting eagerly for anyone willing to make the trip to seize it. It’s a place packed with possibilities.
Whether you’re dipping a paddle into the crystal-clear waters of the Deschutes River, sipping a frosted pint of your favorite craft brew, or plunging into the frosty unknown on a pair of snowshoes, Bend has a way of putting you at ease and in awe all at the same time.
Bend is world-famous for both its outdoor pursuits and pristine beauty. You can catch an art exhibit, dine at an award-winning restaurant, spoil yourself at one of our many spas, or trek the legendary Bend Ale Trail, the largest beer trail in the West. Bend makes a great spot for family-friendly fun as well, from cool snowshoe tours in some of Bend’s snowy forests to watching raptors soar at the High Desert Museum. When you’re all done with the fun, Bend’s diverse lodging options are sure to recharge you. What will your Bend adventure be?
Central Oregon has a dry climate, plentiful sunshine, and excellent weather conditions for sunny days on the mountain. Mt. Bachelor is the largest resort in the area – outstripping every other resort by 1,000 acres. It usually opens in November around Thanksgiving and runs through May, making it one of the longest ski seasons in the country. With already a fair amount of snow, the runs are bolstered by snowmaking.
Central Oregon, the town of Bend, and Mt. Bachelor ski area are excellent options for summer recreation and bike riding in particular. Bachelor’s mountain bike park is a popular option for village visitors after the ski area’s winter closing date. Mt. Bachelor lodging options are based out of Bend and Sunriver, and many of the properties offer transportation via the Mt. Bachelor Shuttle.

Banff march 2023
TRAVEL DATES: Sunday March 12 – Saturday March 18, 2023
If you’re itching to experience the lifestyle of a Swiss skiing village, but don’t want to fork over the cash for a trans-Atlantic flight, consider Banff. Thanks to its location in the heart of the Canadian Rockies near the southeastern border of Banff National Park – Canada’s first national park – taking trips here will decrease not only your flight time from the U.S. but also your expenses (although only marginally). Banff caters to intrepid explorers who prefer to end the day in a nice hotel rather than roughing it at the campgrounds (though, there are plenty of those, too). Opportunities for adventure abound, so pick your sport: Ski down Mount Norquay, hike to the massive, free-standing limestone pillars known as the Hoodoos, “scramble” up the face of the Stoney Squaw Mountain, or bike along Healy Creek. When you are exhausted, retreat to your cozy (and warm) resort, and replenish yourself with a hefty helping of bison meat.
The best times to visit Banff are June to August and December to March. Nature lovers will want to get to the park when the weather is warm and welcoming (and while the hotel rates in town are at a reasonable level). The skiers, however, will want to vacation in the height of winter. Depending on what you want to do, Banff can be seen as an almost year-round destination (although fall can be a bit of a gamble). Temperatures fluctuate dramatically throughout the year; average winter temperatures range from the single digits to the low 30s. During the summer, average temperatures range from 40 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. No matter when you choose to visit, plan to wear sunglasses, a hat, and plenty of sunscreens to protect against UV exposure: The sun at these alpine altitudes is strong.

Zermatt
Zermatt ski resort in Switzerland is considered by many to be one of the best resorts in Europe, if not the world. With the amazing Matterhorn looming high over town, Zermatt is certainly one of the most recognizable & fits the bill for many of the aspects that skiers & snowboarders are looking for on a quintessential European ski holiday.
It feels like you can ski Zermatt forever, with vast terrain and cruising intermediate runs that seem to never end. For those without superhuman fitness, thankfully many of slopes are intersected with fabulous mountain restaurants where you can have a lavish long lunch.
The views across many of the European ski resorts are fantastic, but Zermatt ski resort is in a class of its own. The resort sits at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn (14,692 ft) and on the flanks of the heavily glaciated Monte Rosa (15,204 ft). To say the scenery is incredible is understating it. Whilst it’s more of a town now than a village, Zermatt Switzerland has maintained some of its traditional European charm with a preserved ‘old town’, car free all year round & with the occasional horse drawn carriage travelling down the cobblestone streets. Last but not least, Zermatt resort both oozes panache & is delightfully luxurious for those looking to glam up their ski holidays; or can still provide a fabulous ski holiday experience for those on a budget.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (usually shortened to Chamonix) is a resort area near the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy. At the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps, it’s renowned for its skiing.
Chamonix is a vibrant town known as a world-class ski resort and a mountaineering destination. Situated in the Haute-Savoie region of France, it is bordered by Switzerland and Italy and dominated by the incredible Aiguilles de Chamonix mountain chain peaking at the top of Mont Blanc (4810m).
The pisted ski terrain in Chamonix ranges in altitude from 950m to 3300m, with the backcountry skiing offers much more in terms of altitude, vertical descent and difficulty. There are around 150km of pistes, accessed by a total of 65 ski lifts split between the main ski areas and the low mountain beginner zones. Chamonix has 6 green pistes, 30 blue pistes, 31 red pistes and 10 black pistes.

All 250 bedrooms offer an outstanding view of the mountains
Under the artistic direction of Kely Starlight, the legendary La Folie Douce Après-Ski Party offers an energetic mix of funky and energising tunes. The contrast of hot urban sounds with amazing scenery completes the fantasy of an Après-Ski which is as timeless as it is cool. Singers, big-screen projections and breathtaking light shows, La Folie Douce clubbing is unique, fun, funky and most definitely unforgettable!
The Janssen is the ideal observation point to marvel at the ever-changing magnificence of the Mont Blanc. Here you can snuggle in a book or two and contemplate the landscape while enjoying a glass of wine or a cocktail. The perfect haven to relax in a tribute to the great history of Chamonix and its adventurers.

Airelles Val d’Isère, a five-star ski-in, ski-out hotel
Perched at an altitude of more than 1800 meters, Airelles Val d’Isère is the top ‘ski-in, ski-out’ hotel in this famous Alpine resort. Explore the charm of this authentic mountain village in one of the most beautiful ski areas in Europe. The idyllic location of the hotel, at the foot of the slopes, and its warm, elegant atmosphere, offer a dream stay for anyone who enjoys the finer things in life, whether with family or friends.
Its exterior of natural materials is inspired by traditional Savoyard architecture and blends in with its natural surroundings perfectly. Inside, architect Christophe Tollemer and art historian Emmanuelle Vidal-Delagneau worked side by side to ensure the 41 rooms and suites feel both traditional and sophisticated.
On the top floor, five private apartments offer stunning views over the surrounding mountains. A true haven of a place, where you can enjoy quality of service in an exceptionally beautiful location.
Bespoke experiences for people of all ages
To make your stay memorable, Airelles Val d’Isère has come up with some unique experiences for you to enjoy with family or friends. Sporty types can try a parapente flight, for example, or ice diving or Moonbikes. For those looking for something a bit different, why not try a husky sled dog ride? It’s a magical experience you’ll never forget.
The smallest guests will also enjoy happy memories of their stay at Airelles Val d’Isère, thanks to the Airelles Winter Camp, designed especially for them. There are plenty of games for them in the magical Brocéliande Forest where they can let their imaginations run wild. And if you’d like to introduce your little ones to the delights of the spa, head to the Brocéliande Forest Cave in the Guerlain Spa.
A refined spa in a five-star hotel
After an active day, what could be better than relaxing in a 1200m2 spa? Airelles Val d’Isère offers you the chance to do exactly that in a well-being space designed by the Guerlain brand. Some like to swim lengths in the fabulous pool, while others would rather work out in the well-equipped gym.
For ultimate relaxation, head to one of the five treatment rooms, where Guerlain will pamper you. Enjoy some well-deserved relaxation time before you head off to the slopes again, for another day on skis!
Come discover or rediscover the savoyard village of Val d’Isère and the exceptional ski area of Tignes-Val d’Isère with its 186 miles of pistes.
Hit the snow-covered slopes and feel an adrenaline rush on the legendary Face de Bellevarde or improve your skiing technique on the dedicated Solaise beginners’ area at 8,200 ft of altitude.
A glamorous five-star Hotel Airelles Val d’Isere opened its doors in December 2019 on the edge of the piste. It offers 41 keys, including deluxe rooms, junior suites, suites and apartments with a private butler. There’s a 12,900 sq ft Guerlain Spa, a special children’s kingdom with an enchanted forest, cinema, 200 m² ski room and three restaurants as well as a gallery of boutiques hosting iconic brands.

Zermatt ski resort in Switzerland is considered by many to be one of the best resorts in Europe, if not the world. With the amazing Matterhorn looming high over town, Zermatt is certainly one of the most recognizable which fits the bill for many of the aspects that skiers & snowboarders are looking for on a quintessential Europe ski holiday.
The resort sits at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn (4478m) and on the flanks of the heavily glaciated Monte Rosa (4634m). To say the scenery is incredible is understating it. Zermatt has maintained some of its traditional European charm with a preserved ‘old town’, car free all year round & with the occasional horse drawn carriage travelling down the cobblestone streets. The ski region encompasses 360 km of pistes. The region called “Matterhorn glacier paradise” is Europe’s largest and highest lying ski region. The snow-assured region has three varied ski areas: Sunnega-Rothorn, Gornergrat-Stockhorn, and Scwarzee/Matterhon glacier.
Zermatt skiing is big, but the terrain becomes gargantuan for a few extra francs to get the interlinked lift pass with Cervinia-Valtournenche in Italy. One would be remiss in skiing Zermatt without at least heading to one of Cervinia’s rifugios for lunch!

One of Zermatt’s leading hotels, the unique Hotel Alex enjoys a superb central location and is beautifully furnished throughout, combining the modern and traditional for a luxurious ‘boutique’ feel. Family-run for over 50 years, the hotel receives consistently good feedback for its gourmet cuisine, excellent facilities and high level of service.

Sestriere ski resort Italy has one of the highest Italian ski resort bases at 2,035m elevation, guaranteeing wonderful snow conditions. It Is the main resort within the huge Via Lattea (Milky Way) ski region and ski pass which links Sestriere’s neighbors Oulx (Sauze d’Oulx), Sansicario, Cesana, Claviere, and Montgenevre across the border in France.
The Via Lattea gives Sestriere skiers access to over 400km of ski runs serviced by 70 lifts. For those up to the challenge, skiing the entire Via Lattea in a day is possible following the ‘Giro Della Via Lattea. Much like the Sella Ronda in the Dolomites, the tour will showcase the entire region and is reasonably well signposted and straightforward to follow. Start early though!

The Hotel Cristallo’s excellent position at the foot of the pistes and the spacious public areas makes it very popular. This prime location means quick access to both the centre of town where there’s over 100 shops, bars and restaurants and direct access to the impressive 400 kilometre ski area of the famous Milky Way.
This is a modern hotel that’s perfect for skiers wanting to be in the middle of it all with everything on your doorstep, as well as a hotel which will well and truly have everything you need. There’s a mix of national and international dishes, with most of the indigence sourced locally. As much thought and effort goes into the presentation as it does in coming up with the delicious dishes on offer.
If skiing wasn’t enough to get your daily exercise quota, you can hit the hotel’s gym with a few bits to keep you busy. We prefer the small spa though, chilling in the jacuzzi, cleansing in the Turkish bath or just sprawled out in the relaxation area – all included in the cost. Berlin, Germany
Berlin is more than 775 years old and over the decades, all generations have left their monuments and landmarks in town. The densest array of sights in Berlin lies east of the Brandenburg Gate, on either side of Unter den Linden. In the city west visitors should take a look at the broken shard of the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche, which serves as a brutal reminder of World War II. Close by starts the famous boulevard Kurfürstendamm.
Whether you are looking for a great bargain or hunting a unique gift, Berlin’s flea markets offer a relaxed shopping experience on a Saturday or Sunday. Browse through an endless range of items – from furniture to records and antiques – and enjoy the pleasure of making a great bargain while trying some tasty food from the market.
There are hundreds of parks and gardens in Berlin that offer refuge from the speed and bustling activity of a thriving metropolis. One of the greenest cities in the world, you can stroll through the vast central Tiergarten, enjoy the baroque grounds of Charlottenburg Palace Gardens or take a walk in the fashionable Mauerpark. Breakfast, Dinner
Begin your ski day in the Tofane area. 30 pistes (6 black runs, 12 red runs, 13 blue runs and 6 green runs) with a total of 29,2 miles. From the beginners’ slopes of the lower area you can quickly reach the technically very demanding pistes such as the ‘Canalone’ and the famous Schuss.
The Freccia nel Cielo cable-car takes you up to a height of 8,202′ to the Ra Valles area. If you take the Skitour Olympia route, you can venture onto the unforgettable peaks of the 1956 Olympic races, which today host the Women’s Skiing World Cup. But if you’re an expert skier and looking for an adrenaline rush, try the black run ‘Vertigine Bianca’: because of its steepness, it’s one of the two slopes in Cortina that never get bashed.
In the afternoon take a private transfer to enjoy the slopes at Mount Lagazuoi and Cinque Torri (Five Towers) area, whose characteristic profile isn’t comprised of just 5 towers, but by a mass of secondary boulders, fractured towers and peaks sprinkled liberally across the entire area. These peaks are located to the west of Cortina on a grassy hillock just above the tree line at circa 7,218′.
Check into your rifugio and enjoy a wonderful homemade dinner.
INCLUDED:

Breakfast, Dinner
In the morning take a private transfer to the Civetta ski area.
Surrounded by plenty of uncontaminated views and majestic peaks, the valleys of Alleghe, Selva di Cadore, Zoldo, and Palafavera of Monte Civetta are rich in history and tradition. This area became famous during the 19th century, during the final century of the Venetian Doges, when the first winter guests discovered the imposing beauty and timeless charm of Monte Civetta and in particular Monte Pelmo – known as “God’s Throne.” On the slopes of these two giants surrounded by the Sella Group, the Tofane Massifs and the imposing Marmolada, you will find the largest ski district in the Veneto region. The Ski Civetta area offers a wide range of slopes and attracts skiers of all levels, for a total of 80km / 49,7 miles and 23 lifts.
In the afternoon, for the second part of your day, take a private transfer to Falcade and ski the area of Passo San Pellegrino: more than 60 kilometers (37 miles) of slopes spread out at altitudes between 1,918 and 2,513 meters (6,293-8,245′), all equipped with 26 cutting edge lift systems.
At the end of your skiing day, a snow-cat will pick you up from the main road and take you to your rifugio (1,980m / 6,496′) for the night. Set in a magnificent group of isolated old huts, this rifugio is immersed in the complete silence of a wide valley with a view of the Pale di San Martino peaks. Get ready to taste delicious dishes at the Rifugio’s renowned and traditional restaurant, mentioned in several culinary guides, appreciated not only for the quality of the food, but also for its warmth and welcoming hospitality.
INCLUDED:
Rifugio
Breakfast, Dinner
The time has come to ski a portion of the Sellaronda circuit, one of the most spectacular circuits of the world, circumnavigating the Sella Massif. Considered somewhat of a “merry-go-round” for intermediate level skiers, this unique circular connection of lifts and runs was once the only way the ancient inhabitants of the Ladin villages could maintain a connection with each other.
Nowadays it’s a modern-day carousel that connects four Dolomite passes, four Ladin valleys (Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Val di Fassa, and Livinallongo), and three districts – you’ll have the opportunity to see more of the Dolomites in one day than many see on an entire trip! Although the Sellaronda is a relatively short tour that can be easily done in one day, with a length of just under 40 kilometers (25 miles), 26 of which are ski slopes (16 miles), but requiring approximately 2 hours of ski lift travel time and high elevations, you will begin the tour in the morning to ensure ample time for completion before lift service closes for the day.
Located in a large valley surrounded all around by the gorgeous peaks of the Dolomites, Alta Badia is truly the “heart of the Dolomites.” Geographically in the South Tyrol (Südtirol), this area was part of Austria prior to the First World War. Here you’ll find unique mountain scenery with villages rich in natural beauties and ancient traditions, witness the simple everyday life of the local people (the “Ladini”), as well as the customs and traditions of the ancient Ladin culture.
In the afternoon check-in into your Hotel followed by dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
Included:

In the morning ski to the town of Arabba, take the Porta Vescovo cable car and continue through slopes and lifts to Malga Ciapela, where you’ll find the first of the three cable cars taking you up to the Marmolada Glacier. Known as the “Queen of the Dolomites,” Marmolada (3,350m / 10,990′) is the highest peak and the only glacier in these mountains, providing some of the most spectacular skiing experiences on earth. You will get our full share of stunning views all around you, including the Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Sella, and Gran Vernel.

Nestled at 6,900 feet above sea level, the Park City mountain village was developed when the first ski lift was constructed over 50 years ago in 1963.
Since then, many changes and events have taken place to re-write Park City’s future as a top-ten ski destination—including hosting the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and more recently, the creation of the largest ski resort in the United States.
For quick access to our fantastic learning terrain, or to lay first tracks in the deep powder of Jupiter and McConkey’s bowls, you’ll want to book your lodging near the Park City mountain village.
Park City Town
Main Street provides an array of nightlife, restaurants, and lodging options. Park City Mountain Central Reservations is your one-stop-shop for booking your vacation.
Park City is the only resort with lift access directly to the town’s historic Main Street. And with ski-in/ski-out access to the resort, you can access the largest ski resort in North America directly from Main Street.

Just steps away from the slopes, with its intimate lobby, rooftop hot tub, outdoor heated pool, exercise room and ruggedly elegant atmosphere, sits The Sundial Lodge. Rising five stories above the heart of Canyons Village, the Sundial Lodge is in the center of all the action.
From sunrise to sundown and beyond, Sundial Lodge is Canyons Village at its best. SUMMER ACTIVITIES IN PARK CITY AND DEER VALLEY
Take in the absolute best views of Park City with a hot air balloon ride high above the town. Gaze out over Kamas Valley as you ascend thousands of feet into the sky with the Wasatch Mountains forming a rugged skyline to the west and the streets of Park City gradually getting smaller and smaller. It’s a smooth ride to the top where quiet contemplation awaits.
With the balloon fully inflated and the colorful panels of fabric standing at attention, it’s time for your flight. The ascension to the sky will take place gradually. So gentle is the rise that you might be 1,000 feet up in the air before you notice the height you’ve climbed. Because of this, hot air balloon rides are recommended even for those with a fear of heights—as long as they are not in a state of panic—and some have even cited the experience as helpful in overcoming this fear.
During winter, the snow-capped mountains and frost-covered land is a magnificent sight to behold. Come spring, the green of new life begins to emerge and you can see both snow and defrosted forests. Summertime typically offers clear blue skies and green landscapes as far as the eye can see. Once fall has set in, the view is dotted with trees turning autumnal hues of orange, red, and yellow.
Autumn Aloft

Every September, a weekend is set aside to appreciate these colorful giants during Autumn Aloft. Balloonists come from all over the world to show off their special hot air balloons and you never know what shape they might take, from frogs and owls to rainbow-colored marvels.
If you’re looking for a unique activity to add to your Park City adventure, hot air ballooning is for you!

The hard part is deciding which Park City golf course you should play first. Park City and the surrounding area are home to seven public and eight private courses.
Once you’ve chosen a course – perhaps one designed by William Neff or a Rees Jones championship course, or local Park City Golf Club, your next challenge will be to master the art of hiding your shock over how much further your ball soars. Go ahead and tout the bragging rights of your improved game to friends back home. We’ll keep your secret about how mountain location actually adds distance to your shot. And it certainly doesn’t hurt your game when you play in summer temperatures that are generally milder than many other golf destinations.
When an idyllic, vista-filled day of Park City golfing is over, reward your hard work on the course with Park City’s endless options for mouthwatering cuisine and refreshing libations on Historic Main Street and throughout town. Again, more decisions. But you can’t go wrong here.

During winter, the snow-capped mountains and frost-covered land is a magnificent sight to behold. Come spring, the green of new life begins to emerge and you can see both snow and defrosted forests.

With thousands of square acreage throughout the valley, some might go a lifetime on horseback and never see the same spot twice. So bring your curiosity and your love of animals to the wild West and take life by the reins.

The Mountain Lion is embodied by the title “Ghost of the Rockies”, for when in their presence they may be felt but are rarely seen or photographed. This magnificent golden cat has mastered the art of concealment by only hunting the remote broken canyons in the blackness of night.
Possessing cryptic senses of hearing and sight in combination with unmatched strength and speed makes the puma one of the least photographed of North Americas wild animals. But as winter snows blanket the favorite haunts of this American lion, the tracks of this great cat are revealed.
If a glimpse into the fiery-green eyes of one of these golden ghosts calls to you, then come ‘Experience the Edge’!

Or guests can take it easy and explore the surrounding snowy trails by snowshoe, cross country ski, or fat bike. A sauna, hot tub, and fire pit await back home in the courtyard and après is steps away in the home’s private cabin-like bar.

New Years (5-night, buyout)
SLEEP
Each of the six guest rooms is slightly different, with a mix of elegant and rustic touches, including earth-toned furnishings, jute rugs, and exposed wood beams. The seven-bed bunkroom, modeled after the board game Chutes and Ladders, is every kid’s dream. If you’re visiting from sea level, an oxygen-enriched air system can be activated by the flip of a switch to help fight the effect of high altitude, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Red Lady
Red Lady is the master suite. West-facing windows look out to the iconic Mt. Emmons, fondly known as Red Lady. Vaulted ceilings make this room feel extra spacious. A wrought-iron ladder leads up to a loft area and the en suite bathroom is adjacent to the king bed.
Butte
Butte, our junior master king suite, is tucked on the southeastern side of the Lodge and shares a south-facing roof deck with our Whetstone room. Stellar views replace a TV. Soak in the late afternoon sun on the deck or gaze out at Mt. Crested Butte’s rocky peak from your bed.
Whetstone
Decorated in blue tweeds and Moroccan rugs, Whetstone is our most private king room at Scarp Ridge Lodge and a favorite of young families. A sitting room with a TV has the type of sofa that inspires an impromptu nap, and also doubles as a pull out bed. This room features additional closet space. The bedroom and bath are around the corner from the sitting room.
Beckwith
Beckwith is south facing and gets plenty of natural light. A king bed allows for views of Gibson’s Ridge and Colorado’s bluebird sky. There’s a lot of space, with two chairs beneath the windows and warm red and brown tones throughout the room.
Marcellina
Marcellina is bright in both décor and natural light, with large, west-facing windows and a king bed. An adjoining private sitting area has a pull out couch, bookshelves, a TV, closet, and minibar. Guests can enjoy views of Red Lady from the steam shower or bathtub.
Bunk
The bunkroom is a kid’s fantasy come true. Staff will label each bed with a special chalkboard sign so that the kids can stake their claim. Built to resemble the game Chutes and Ladders, the two and three-story bunk beds and loft are filled with toys. The bunkroom includes an adjoining bathroom with a smaller tub for kids.

This together with the lively pedestrian streets, the many shops, bars, and restaurants make a stay in Val Thorens hard to beat.
World’s best ski resorts in 2017
Rob Hodgetts, CNN • Updated 21st November 2017
(CNN) — It’s not only the highest ski resort in Europe and part of the world’s largest ski area — now Val Thorens in the French Alps has been voted best ski resort in the world for 2017.
The snowsure resort, which sits in a vast natural bowl at 2,300 meters, won the plaudits for a second straight year in a glitzy ceremony at the World Ski Awards in Kitzbuhel, Austria.
Val Thorens, which caters for a range of budgets and has built six 4 and 5 star hotels in the last six years, is part of the famous 3 Vallees — a whopping 600 kilometers of runs and links to Meribel and Courchevel.
“Skiers love Val Thorens and have shown it again this year,” said Gregory Guzzo, director of Val Thorens Tourist Office. “We are very happy; this is the result of a team who questioned itself every day to make sure to offer the best to its clients.”

Niseko
When you ski Japan you’re on the slopes of one of the world’s leading ski nations and the main ski country in Asia. Japan has a reputation of excellent snowfalls, particularly on the northern island of Hokkaido where annual snow accumulations are normally among the deepest in the world and the powder is second to none.
Niseko has risen to worldwide fame as a cult free-riding resort attracting powder hounds from around the world. The area is known to have far more English language information than other resorts, making the resort instantly more attractive to the global market.
The 1309 meter high volcano Niseko rises in west Hokkaido. Just below the summit, the lift teams of four ski resorts come together for which there is a shared lift pass: Niseko Annupuri, Niseko Village, Hirafu and Hanazono Resort. The panorama is breathtaking: Just opposite the Niseko is Mount Yotei, which stands on a par with Fuji in terms of perfect cones.
A main attraction is the remarkable snow conditions, but visitors have also found that modern Japan offers great food in its restaurants and relatively affordable prices. Service standards are also very high and the local population friendly and respectful in their welcome. Japan also has several unique attractions including the hot spring onsen baths found at many resorts and eternally popular karaoke bars for après ski.
