Park City Mountain Village

Nestled at 6,900 feet above sea level, the Park City mountain village was developed when the first ski lift was constructed over 50 years ago in 1963.
Since then, many changes and events have taken place to re-write Park City’s future as a top-ten ski destination—including hosting the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and more recently, the creation of the largest ski resort in the United States.

And with ski-in/ski-out access to the resort, you can access the largest ski resort in North America directly from Main Street.

Just steps away from the slopes, with its intimate lobby, rooftop hot tub, outdoor heated pool, exercise room and ruggedly elegant atmosphere, sits The Sundial Lodge. Rising five stories above the heart of Canyons Village, the Sundial Lodge is in the center of all the action.

From sunrise to sundown and beyond, Sundial Lodge is Canyons Village at its best. SUMMER ACTIVITIES IN PARK CITY AND DEER VALLEY

Take in the absolute best views of Park City with a hot air balloon ride high above the town. Gaze out over Kamas Valley as you ascend thousands of feet into the sky with the Wasatch Mountains forming a rugged skyline to the west and the streets of Park City gradually getting smaller and smaller. It’s a smooth ride to the top where quiet contemplation awaits.

With the balloon fully inflated and the colorful panels of fabric standing at attention, it’s time for your flight. The ascension to the sky will take place gradually. So gentle is the rise that you might be 1,000 feet up in the air before you notice the height you’ve climbed. Because of this, hot air balloon rides are recommended even for those with a fear of heights—as long as they are not in a state of panic—and some have even cited the experience as helpful in overcoming this fear.

During winter, the snow-capped mountains and frost-covered land is a magnificent sight to behold. Come spring, the green of new life begins to emerge and you can see both snow and defrosted forests. Summertime typically offers clear blue skies and green landscapes as far as the eye can see. Once fall has set in, the view is dotted with trees turning autumnal hues of orange, red, and yellow.

Autumn Aloft

Park City is so ideal for hot air ballooning that the town even hosts a yearly event dedicated to recreation. Every September, a weekend is set aside to appreciate these colorful giants during Autumn Aloft. Balloonists come from all over the world to show off their special hot air balloons and you never know what shape they might take, from frogs and owls to rainbow-colored marvels.

If you’re looking for a unique activity to add to your Park City adventure, hot air ballooning is for you!

Enjoy easy access to fifteen golf courses

You can golf in Park City the same day you fly in. It’s true. Park City golf courses are less than an hour away from Salt Lake City International Airport. The hard part is deciding which Park City golf course you should play first. Park City and the surrounding area are home to seven public and eight private courses.

Once you’ve chosen a course – perhaps one designed by William Neff or a Rees Jones championship course, or local Park City Golf Club, your next challenge will be to master the art of hiding your shock over how much further your ball soars. Go ahead and tout the bragging rights of your improved game to friends back home. We’ll keep your secret about how mountain location actually adds distance to your shot. And it certainly doesn’t hurt your game when you play in summer temperatures that are generally milder than many other golf destinations.

When an idyllic, vista-filled day of Park City golfing is over, reward your hard work on the course with Park City’s endless options for mouthwatering cuisine and refreshing libations on Historic Main Street and throughout town. Again, more decisions. But you can’t go wrong here.

While the trails in Park City are full of runners and cyclists, horseback riders in Park City know that one of the best ways to enjoy the beautiful mountain vistas is from the seat of a saddle.

The horses stabled by Park City guides are kind, responsive, and emotional creatures. Plus, they love to go out on the mountain trails having made the journey countless times. Even if you have limited horseback riding experience, you can and find a stable and tour that will allow you to get the most out of Park City’s spectacular terrain.

Summer means you’ll get a whisk of cool mountain air from atop your horse and a great view of meadows full of wildflowers and sublime mountain peaks. You may even see a grazing deer or elk during your traverse through the wilderness.

With thousands of square acreage throughout the valley, some might go a lifetime on horseback and never see the same spot twice. So bring your curiosity and your love of animals to the wild West and take life by the reins.

River Rafting and Tubing in Park City
Enjoy the refreshing white waters of the Weber River and Provo River by going rafting, kayaking, or tubing. When it comes to rafting, there are plenty of options for groups of any size or experience level. Board a vivid orange raft with family or friends and take an exhilarating ride down the river!

Park City is a prime destination for river rafting, kayaking, and any kind of water sport you can imagine. If you enjoy water activities or want to explore stunning lakes and rivers, Park City is an excellent place for your next vacation!

Park City has plenty to offer thrill seekers and adventurers who are ready for some action. Want to race through the mountain terrain or soar high above canyons and rivers? You can take a wild ride on Park City’s Alpine Coaster, sign up for a zipline tour, or race downhill in a bobsled.

Bobsledding on the 2002 Winter Olympics Track
Have you ever imagined being an Olympic athlete? At Comet Bobsled, you can feel like a true Olympian on the very same track where the bobsled, luge, and skeleton events were held during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The bobsleds are modified to roll down the concrete surface of the track and can fit three passengers. You’ll be piloted by a professional bobsledder as you race down the twists and turns at speeds of up to 60 mph. This ultimate bobsled experience is perfect for adrenaline junkies and Olympics fans alike.

Incredible Zipline Adventure Tours in Park City
With its flowing rivers and rugged mountain peaks, Park City is a popular destination for ziplining.
Utah Olympic Park’s Zip Tour features seven towers and a zipline that lets you fly 161 feet at 40 mph above the most scenic areas of the Olympic Park. The Zip Tour is open seven days a week during the summer, so you have plenty of opportunities to try it out.

Park City’s Alpine Coaster
Mountains meet amusement park with Park City’s amazing Alpine Coaster, a thrilling and unique ride you must experience. The coaster features an elevated track that twists and turns over a mile of loops, curves, and turns, offering spectacular views of mountain scenery. Each car can fit two passengers, and you are responsible for driving the car over the track. If racing downhill through fields and mountain terrain appeals to you, then you don’t want to miss the Alpine Coaster.

These are some of the best options for Park City visitors who are looking to have thrilling and exhilarating experiences during their stay. If you want to ride a mountain coaster, soar on the longest zipline in the country, or race a bobsled on an Olympic track, you should definitely plan a visit to Park City.
