What is a Rodel?
A rodel is a traditional alpine sled, designed specifically for carving down snowy mountain trails with control and style. Unlike the simple plastic sleds you might find elsewhere, a rodel is made of sturdy wood with metal runners and a curved shape that allows for smoother steering, faster descents, and better grip on groomed sledding tracks.
Used widely throughout Switzerland, rodeling is a popular winter pastime for locals and visitors alike. It’s accessible for beginners but thrilling enough to keep experienced adventurers grinning from ear to ear. Whether you’re cruising down gentle slopes or tackling steep alpine runs, riding a rodel adds a fun, authentic Swiss twist to your mountain experience.
Day 1: Arrival and Welcome
